Job Title:                  Business Development Manager

Job Location:         This position will office out of our Hutchinson office and/or needs to reside within 50 miles of the office.

A Day in the Life:

As a Business Development Manager for ProValue Insurance, you will be responsible for cultivating new insurance customers across a wide variety of organizations including Agribusiness, Farms, and Trucking Fleets. This includes cold calling on potential new clients to introduce them to the products and services offered by ProValue Insurance. You will collaborate closely with a team of professionals to acquire new business.  You are expected to travel and establish and maintain relationships quickly. This job requires an individual who is a natural relationship builder who sees the value of ProValue Insurances products and services and is willing to work with customers on managing various aspects of their risk exposures. In addition, this professional is responsible for retaining the acquired insurance customers by providing timely renewal quotes and all applicable service work. The Business Development Manager is expected to work as part of a 3–4-person team within the organization to administer a complete risk management package to large, high-risk customers. As a Business Development Manager, you are expected to work daily on developing relationships with our valued insurance carrier partners.

This position reports directly to the Executive Vice-President of Sales.

What You Will Need to Do This Job:

  • 3-5 years of sales experience, 3 years of insurance industry experience, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Thoughtful, analytical, strategic, and resourceful in job performance.
  • Successful candidates must be social, relatable, likeable, and trustworthy in nature.
  • High caliber presentation skills both in person and via virtual means.
  • A demonstrated ability to cold call customers and have proven success with cold calling.
  • Ability to sell in a team-based approach leveraging the strengths of the company to the needs of the customer.
  • The ability to create and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • An entrepreneurial and competitive spirit and drive to succeed.
  • Persistence and creativity in problem solving.
  • Ability to use and understand technology including computers, smartphones, tablets, and various software programs and apps.
  • Have moderate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Diligently maintain the Agency Management System’s integrity.
  • Property & casualty insurance license /or willingness to obtain a property & casualty insurance license.
  • A valid drivers’ license.
  • The ability to travel 70-80% of the time, day travel with a significant portion of that being overnight.
  • This position generally works in an office environment, drives significantly, but is occasionally exposed to outdoor conditions or other locations. Extended periods of sitting, standing and computer work are required. The ability to speak, hear, and type is required. You will regularly lift twenty pounds or less.
  • This position requires you to perform other duties as assigned by management.
