A Day in the Life:

The Brand and Communication Strategist oversees and manages the task of telling the “story” of ProValue Insurance.  This includes driving company-wide branding efforts and being responsible for making sure all external communications, including social media, keep the “feel” and message of the ProValue Insurance brand.  The Brand and Communication Strategist will also oversee marketing and advertising campaigns and develop and implement ProValue Insurance’s social media strategy and presence.

On a day-to-day basis this includes preparing, planning, and managing the publications and all advertising materials to maximize brand promotion as well as expanding marketing efforts outside of Hutchinson. This position is the point person for all external advertising/marketing coordination among the entire company. Daily they will manage the social media presence to include the following:  define the most important social media platforms to use, manage and oversee content, manage, and measure social media campaigns, stay up to date on the latest social media and communication platforms and trends, monitor user engagement and SEO to suggest optimal content, learn from and network with other social medial influencers in the industry to create a strong network. They will manage our sponsored ad programs through social media.  In addition, the Brand and Communication Strategist will assist with writing and editing other company (and affiliated company and organizations) communications including newsletters, press releases, member letters, etc.  They will work closely with the Executive Team and the Member Relationship Manager to enable them to meet their objectives and provide them with appropriate tools, materials, and presentations. In addition, they will work on and be responsible for the website, to create a seamless and integrated brand and advertising strategy as well as help with design and content that drives people to the website. 

This position will be heavy on graphic design work and content development.  Everything from digital billboards, radio ads and social media to printed brochures, training materials, presentations, and proposals. 

Immediately you will spend time understanding our company and who we are as it relates to our branding, advertising, marketing, radio, digital and print materials.  You will work closely with the Vice-President of Corporate & Professional Services to develop a comprehensive branding, advertising, and marketing plan that strengthens our customer recognition and our position as an insurance agency leader in the mid-west. 

This position reports directly to the Vice-President of Corporate & Professional Services.

What You Will Need to Do This Job:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 2-5 years’ worth of branding, marketing and graphic design experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Strong creative outlook with the ability to develop original content and graphic design work.
  • Excellent knowledge of the major social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, etc.
  • Understanding of SEO and website traffic.
  • Competent in web design and publishing.
  • Excellent communication skills including speaking and writing.
  • Excellent multi-tasker.
  • Professional maturity to balance creativity with the realities of business.
  • Team player who can develop effective working relationships internally and externally.
  • A can-do attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • The ability to think clearly and problem solve.
  • Ability to use and understanding technology including a computer, smart phone, tablet and various software programs and apps.
  • Highly proficient in the Adobe Suite of design products.
  • Highly proficient in the Microsoft Suite of products.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • The ability to travel occasionally for meetings and to our other offices.
  • This position may be flexible and remote.  You will be required to work in the corporate office (Hutchinson, KS) 3-5 days per month.
  • This position generally works in an office environment but is occasionally exposed to outdoor conditions or other locations.  Long periods of sitting, standing and computer work are required.  The ability to speak, hear, and type is also required.  You will regularly lift 20 pounds or less.
  • As always, employees are expected and required to perform all other duties as directed by the supervisor.
