A Day in the Life:

As a Sales Intern you will develop an in-depth working knowledge of the insurance industry and products.  The Sales Intern will have direct customer contact and must embody the core values of ProValue Insurance including integrity, professionalism, and stability.  The Sales Intern will be paired with a sales mentor so they may gain sales experience in the field directly with customers.  The Sales Intern will also work closely with our Brand Strategist to help create social media and other marketing pieces to promote the insurance agency and its products and services. 

This job will work on a rotation, learning a new and different facet of insurance work and other business functions within the agency from sales to operations, to other services we provide.

During the summer this position may work up to 40 hours per week.  During the school year, it will work approximately 10 – 12 hours per week.  This position will report to either our Hutchinson, Kansas office or Garden City, Kansas office.

This internship is structured to provide an opportunity for transition from the intern program to full-time employment when qualifications and expectations are met.

The Sales Intern position reports to the Vice-President of Corporate and Professional Services.  They will also be paired with appropriate mentors during their internship for projects and field work.

What You will Need to Do This Job:

Undergraduate student working towards a Bachelors’ degree in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of college; preferred majors would be related to sales, agriculture business or business.

An entrepreneurial spirit and drive to succeed.

Persistence and creativity in problem solving; solid analytical skills.

Excellent public speaking skills and presence. 

Ability to use and understanding technology including a computer, smart phone, tablet and various software programs and apps.

A valid driver’s license.

The ability to travel during the summer internship portion of the program, mostly day travel with an occasional overnight.

This position generally works in an office environment but is occasionally exposed to outdoor conditions or other locations.  Long periods of sitting, standing and computer work are required. 

The ability to speak, hear, and type is also required.  You will regularly lift 20 pounds or less.

This position will also be required to perform other duties as assigned by management.
