General Manager | Cooperative Grain and Supply

Cooperative Grain and Supply, located in central Kansas between Hays and Dodge City in Bazine, is searching for a General Manager. Successful candidates must be excellent people managers with the skill and ability to lead and direct a tight-knit crew of employees. They must also be customer-focused with the personality and skill to provide an outstanding member and customer experience by purposely being engaged at the office and in the country.  This is a “hands-on” management opportunity that will be a mix of operational responsibilities as well as overall leadership of the Cooperative.  Additionally, they must also have at least three years of department or senior leader experience within an agribusiness. Experience and understanding of grain marketing and handling, agronomy services, and retail service stations will also be essential to their success. Candidates must also have a thorough understanding of managing the behind-the-scenes of a business including all financial aspects. The Cooperative is in a growth mode with expansion projects in both grain storage and agronomy operations. Candidates will be expected to successfully manage all aspects of expansion projects.

Additional Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience with at least 3 years’ experience working as a Location Manager, Department Manager and/or General Manager preferred.
• Preferred experience in grain merchandising and operations.
• Must have demonstrated the highest levels of personal and business integrity and value fair and honest business practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team of employees.
• Ability to use and understand technology (computer, smart phone, tablet, software programs, etc.)
• A valid driver’s license.
• A strong commitment to the Cooperative business principals.
• Reside in the Cooperative’s trade territory.
