A Day in the Life:
As an Insurance Sales Account Manager for ProValue Insurance, you will be responsible for cultivating relationships and developing new insurance customers across a wide variety of organizations including commercial, trucking, agribusiness, and farms. You are required and must want to learn and understand these industries, including a general knowledge of the various laws and regulations as well as specific insurance coverages associated with these types of businesses. As a licensed insurance sales professional, you must be able to communicate with others in a confident and helpful manner while simultaneously building credibility and rapport. This job requires an individual who is a natural relationship builder who sees the value of ProValue Insurance’s products and services and is willing to work with customers on managing various aspects of their risk exposures. You must be able to conduct all sales calls with confidence and impact.
In this position, you are required to call on potential new clients, retain current insurance customers by providing timely renewal quotes and obtain referrals from existing customers for new business. As a Sales Account Manager, you are expected to generate a list of prospects and sales leads as well as make cold calls to these prospects. Travel is also a huge part of this position, with the estimated travel being 70-80% of your time with regular overnights. Efficient and productive travel is also a requirement of this position.
The Insurance Sales Account Manager is expected to work as a team within the organization by collaborating with other sales team members, customer service agents, and management to ensure a smooth customer service experience. Daily, you are expected to work on developing relationships with our valued insurance carrier partners. You will also collaborate with other professionals within ProValue Insurance and our affiliated company to cross-sell services and prove to clients that we are a full-service insurance agency.
Spoken and written communication is imperative in this role as you must be able to effectively present ideas and read and interpret written information. The ability to use a computer is also a requirement of this position as the data you gather from clients must be entered into our agency management system.
