ABOUT GOLDEN BELT COOP

The Golden Belt Coop is located in Ellis, Kansas in the northwest part of the state.  It is a successful, full-service, multi-location Cooperative. They offer services in grain storage and marketing, agronomy, feed, farm supply, and operate a successful service station. Golden Belt Coop is a member of CoMark Equity Alliance.  They currently have 2.8 million bushels of grain storage capacity. With fifteen full-time employees, this community-minded Cooperative proudly serves the Ellis area. Please visit their website at goldenbeltcoop.com for more information.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The General Manager of Golden Belt Coop must be an excellent manager of people and operations. Successful candidates must have demonstrated experience leading and directing employees on a daily basis, while juggling the demands of the day-to-day operations. They must also be customer-focused with the ability to develop strong relationships by being fully engaged in the office and in the country. This is a “hands-on” management opportunity that will be a mix of operational responsibilities as well as overall leadership of the Cooperative.  Preferred candidates will have a background in agriculture and understand the challenges and opportunities facing the industry today. Additionally, financial acumen will be essential to the success of any candidate in this role.

 

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field, 2 – 3 years of management, Cooperative management or ag-business experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Experience preferred in grain, agronomy, feed, or other related agriculture operation.
  • Must have demonstrated success managing and leading employees as well as developing strong customer relationships.
  • Ability to use and understand technology (computer, smart phone, tablet, software programs, etc.)
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • A strong commitment to the Cooperative business principals.
  • Reside within twenty miles of Ellis, Kansas.
